This Privacy Policy explains how Tez Law P.C. (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Zara by Tez Law mobile application (“Zara” or “the App”).

Zara is used by three types of users, each with different data practices:

• Clients of Tez Law P.C. who use the App to view their case, message their legal team, and receive updates
• Firm staff (attorneys, paralegals, case managers) at Tez Law P.C. who use the App to manage cases
• Consultants who submit work orders on behalf of the firm

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account information: phone number (clients), username and password (firm staff and consultants), name, email address
• Language preference: your chosen interface language (English, Traditional Chinese, or Spanish)
• Messages: the content of any messages you send to Tez Law through the App
• Work orders (consultants only): case-related information you submit for firm review

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifier used to deliver push notifications
• Usage information: features you access within the App, timestamps of activity, for security and troubleshooting
• Log data: IP address, request timestamps, and error reports

1.3 Information from Third Parties

For SMS verification, we use Twilio to send one-time codes to your phone number. Twilio processes your phone number solely to deliver the verification message.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and provide access to your case information
• To display your case status, upcoming hearings, deadlines, and other legal information
• To facilitate secure messaging between you and your legal team
• To send you push notifications about your case (new messages, appointment reminders, deadline alerts)
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. Attorney-Client Privilege

Communications between clients and Tez Law P.C. through the App relate to legal representation and are treated as confidential attorney-client communications, protected under applicable law. We do not sell, share, or disclose these communications to third parties except as required by law or with your explicit consent.

4. Information Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in these limited situations:

• Within Tez Law P.C.: firm attorneys and staff assigned to your case may access your information to provide legal services
• Service providers: we use trusted third parties (like our cloud hosting provider Render, database provider PostgreSQL hosting, and SMS provider Twilio) who process data on our behalf under contract
• Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Tez Law P.C., our clients, or the public
• Business transfer: in the unlikely event of a merger or acquisition, information may transfer to the successor entity under equivalent privacy protections

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your relationship with Tez Law P.C. continues, plus any period required by California legal and ethical rules for attorney record retention (typically at least 5 years after case closure for client files). You may request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 8).

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted HTTPS connections for all data transmission
• Bearer-token authentication with server-side validation
• Password hashing using SHA-256
• SMS one-time password verification for client access
• Role-based access controls limiting data visibility by user role

No system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by California and federal law.

7. Children’s Privacy

Zara is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us immediately.

8. Your Rights

Under California law (CCPA/CPRA) and other applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your account and associated personal information (subject to legal retention requirements for attorney records)
• Opt out of push notifications (via device settings)
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing
• Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

9. Push Notifications

The App uses Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver notifications for new messages, appointment reminders, and case updates. You can disable push notifications any time in your device settings. Disabling notifications will not affect other App functions.

10. International Users

The App is intended for use by clients of Tez Law P.C. in the United States. Data is stored on servers located in the United States. If you access the App from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer of your information to and processing in the United States.

11. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with these third-party services, each subject to its own privacy policy:

• Twilio (SMS verification): twilio.com/legal/privacy
• Expo (push notification delivery): expo.dev/privacy
• Render (cloud hosting): render.com/privacy
• Anthropic (AI assistant “Zara” feature): anthropic.com/legal/privacy

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
