An immigrant who built businesses before practicing law
An immigrant himself, JJ Zhang ran hotels and a galvanized wire business spanning China and the United States, served in the Navy Reserve, and developed real estate before founding Tez Law P.C. in 2021. He leads the firm’s attorneys and staff.
That experience informs the firm’s representation of clients in hospitality, manufacturing and trade, real estate development and construction, lending, EB-5 projects and senior care. In 2011 and 2012, as general manager of a galvanized wire business, he testified before the U.S. International Trade Commission in an antidumping and countervailing duty investigation, years before becoming a lawyer.
He is admitted to the State Bar of California (2019) and to the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Ninth Circuits, holds a California real estate broker license, and serves clients in English, Mandarin and Shanghainese.
